On the week commencing 25th June 2018, towns and cities across the UK will be celebrating Armed Forces Day. This event allows members of the public to show their support to men and women in connection with the Armed Forces. This includes troops currently serving, their families, veterans and cadets.
Every year, national Armed Forces Day is held on the last Saturday of June. Therefore, this year the event will commence on 30th June 2018. Famous landmarks and buildings will be raising the Union Flag. This is to honor the people who served and are currently serving for our country.
Llandudno will be hosting this years Armed Forces Day. North Wales has many links to the Armed Forces including Army units. Therefore, Llandudno will be welcoming up to 250,000 additional visitors to the town.
There will be a military parade taking place featuring 1,200 personnel, cadets and Veterans. The parade will march on the road adjacent to the promenade. Also, there will be an events village on the promenade which will include a range of different activities, live music and military displays. Charities like SSAFA and The Royal British Legion will be hosting military-themed attractions and activities for visitors to enjoy. We are delighted to announce that Veterans Next Step will be attending this years Armed Forces Day in Llandudno. We will be located in the events village, offering help to any Veterans who are struggling to sign up or even wanting to know more about who we are and what we do.
Loughborough is also hosting a range of events, one of them being, the Veterans Breakfast Club. This is inviting the public to enjoy a range of refreshments whilst they share their experiences. This will allow the Veterans to be there for one another. As well as this, it helps Veterans to form relationships with people who are in the same boat as them.
The events for Armed Forces Day range from fun activities like Llandudno, to Veterans Breakfast Clubs to even a church service in Airdrie. Therefore, there is literally something there for everyone up and down the country. Visit the events page on the Armed Forces Day website to find out more.
